I don't have a ton to say in this post because I'm completely unfamiliar with the character and only one ep has been released so far!

But hey--loving it!!

Marvel's always showing off its excellent cinematography, writing, and acting. Like seriously, do any of their shows ever have flaws? Potentially other than changing some source material stuff, like Ms. Marvel (which hasn't premiered yet as of this writing) is currently under some fire for changing the titular character's powers.

I ended up watching part of the first episode about three times to accommodate different friends (😅) but that actually helped me a bit because I always have trouble keeping up with things the first time. For example, the very first scene has close-ups of a character performing a strange ritual, and only on the third watch did I realize it wasn't the main character. Go me.

The very nature of the Moon Knight character makes him... confusing. He has dissociative personality disorder, meaning more than one personality inhabits his body, and one of them seems to be an Egyptian god. So that's fine. In this episode, he has major issues staying awake, sleepwalking, and keeping track of what day it is, resulting in accidentally standing up a first date and waking up in very random locations. The god also seems to be actively fighting for control of his body, which saves his life in several occasions when the god takes over to finish a fight or two.

By the end of the first episode, he relents to allowing the deity to take full control because he's finding himself in increasingly unmanageable situations. Like being attacked by an Egyptian cat demon. I'm looking forward to seeing how long Steven has been coping with these major sleep and personality issues, why the Egyptian god has chosen him, and where his powers lead.
