Rings of Power: Season 1

Image
Based on: The Lord of the Rings  and related works by J.R.R. Tolkien Developed by: J. D. Payne & Patrick McKay Producers: Ron Ames & Chris Newman Starring: Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Robert Aramayo (Elrond), Ismael Cruz Córdova (Arondir), Nazanin Boniadi (Bronwyn), Tyroe Muhafidin (Theo), Lloyd Owen (Elendil), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Míriel), Peter Mullan (Durin III), Owain Arthur (Durin IV), Sophia Nomvete (Disa), Lenny Henry (Sadoc), Markella Kavenagh ("Nori"), Megan Richards (Poppy), Daniel Weyman (The Stranger), Charlie Vickers (Halbrand), Joseph Mawle (Adar)  This was a really fun series to watch!  I understand it got mixed reviews--mostly from audiences--and mostly online, as far as I could tell. But I don't share in that negativity at all . I just loved the series. From beginning to end, every episode was great fun to watch and I was glued to the screen for all 8+ hours o...

She-Hulk: Season 1

Image
Based on: Marvel comics featuring the titular character created by Stan Lee & John Buscema Disney+ Series Created by: Jessica Gao Executive producers: Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro, Jessica Gao, Wendy Jacobson Starring: Tatiana Maslany (Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk), Jameela Jamil (Titania), Ginger Gonzaga (Nikki Ramos), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky/Abomination), Benedict Wong (Wong), Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) This series got very mixed reviews, with critics and magazines loving it and audiences more critical.  I found myself somewhat divided as well. Primal: Season 2

Image
Created & directed by: Genndy Tartakovsky Executive producers: Genndy Tartakovsky, Brian A. Miller, Jennifer Pelphrey, Rob Sorcher, Sam Register, Mike Lazzo, Keith Crofford Starring: Aaron LaPlante (Spear) & Laëtitia Eïdo (Mira) Although I enjoyed the first season quite a bit, this second season lost my interest a lot toward the end.  It's still a remarkable series, though, the whole way through. It makes a name for itself for consistency in one major overarching element: voicelessness. 95% of the series has no dialogue, managing to capture great stories and impressive emotional depth through visuals and sounds alone. Spear's voice actor had the honor of grunting his way through all of it, though the character did learn his love interest, Mira's, name. Mira's character had a bit more dynamic, she spoke a language that Wikipedia deems as Arabic.  Fang and Spear bonding Even as Mira and other language-speaking characters (like Vikings) appear in the seco...
